Reply with quote | #3 | Throttle Z "Brain" kicks ass. I got it in the mail a week ago from CD Baby. The more I listen to it the more I like it. The tunes are great, and the production is very, very good. The production on the first two Throttle Z CD's were not bad, but Brain is very good.
I've been listening to The Sword. I got the first two albums, "Gods Of The Earth" and "Age Of Winters". I got turned on to them because I heard "Freya" on my son's Guitar Hero game. The music reminds me of a 70's era Black Sabbath, both in guitar tone and song structure. The singer is ok; nothing great, but the tunes are great. There are some video's on You Tube if you want to listen. __________________ Jeff "The Mad Zak" Zakany |

Reply with quote | #5 | Good question Tibor. Local band wise, I've been listening to the new ThrottleZ, Local Rock Vol 1 (from Sumthin Fierce records), Trigger Zone, and I was just listening to Digital Black on the way to work this morning.
I always keep some Led Zep and old school Aerosmith in the car. I recently got into a couple bands that I like a lot. Shinedown and Black Stone Cherry. |

Reply with quote | #6 | the new Z did come out pretty good, too bad it fell apart, but eh. I need to hook you up with this DEFLAGRATION cd I got. they are from findlay but it is just one of the baddest "local" cd's out now. I've been jammin' on it for a while and I'm still not burn out yet, says something. __________________ PROPULSION ----------- SEPT. 19th. at asshole ally (where ever the hell that is) |

The new Metallica Death Magnetic is kicking my ass. I also listen to 24-7 Spyz, Filter, Riot (the cd "Beyond the Storm" is awesome), some old school UFO with Michael Schenker, Metal Church, Black Sabbath with Ozzy (Sabotage, Technical Ecstacy, Never Say Die), Fuel, Throttle Z, Heavy Alliance, Iron Maiden (Powerslave, Killers, Number of the Beast, debut Album), Disturbed, Prong....still too many to mention! |

Weems, I got "Strangers in the Night" UFO's old live album for Christmas, I had it on vinyl. It rocks, hard to believe Schenker was just a kid. His melodie's during his solos were incredible! |

I agree totally! If I had to pick one guitar player that I dig most, Michael Schenker is my favorite. His soloing and sense of melody is second to none. On Strangers in The Night, his leads on "Lights Out", "Rock Bottom", "This Kids", and "I'm A Loser" provide guaranteed goosebumps. Some of his solo stuff on MSG is great also....MSG 1 and 2, Built to Destroy (check out "Captain Nemo"), and especially Assault Attack (which has Graham Bonnet on vocals from Rainbow and Alcatraz)...friggin' awesome guitar work, especially the title track, Samarai, Desert Song, and (my favorite) Broken Promises! |

MSG's "Armed and Ready" was one of the first songs I learned to play on bass. I don't remember the song list, but we may have played it on stage while opening up for Demon's Creed at the Swallow's in Zanesville. Does Doug N ever check these boards? __________________ Jeff "The Mad Zak" Zakany |

Zak and Weems, have been a huge Schenker fan for years, saw him play Captain Nemo up close and personal at the Villa'. I have a dvd of a concert in Tokyo in 94' plays all the great stuff from UFO and the MSG days. He plays the solos note for note.Zak if your Talkin' about Doug O, you found me. You floor me with the old demons Creed at Swallows stuff, guess what? I have a Demons Creed Video from Swallows. Funny stuff. |
